2019 Acura MDX: New and Upcoming

We’re happy to announce that there’s another new Acura vehicle on offer at Hall Acura Newport News. At long last, we’re welcoming the 2019 Acura MDX to the fold. We’ve written about it in this space in the past, but now that it’s here, we thought it would be a good time for a refresher.

First, let’s recap what’s new for model year 2019. The 2019 Acura MDX seats either six or seven passengers, depending on the trim and option packages chosen. Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) remains optional, except on the new A-Spec trim, where it’s standard equipment. Updated features for this year include:

  • Optional active shocks
  • Improved nine-speed transmission
  • AcuraWatch driver assist features now standard equipment
  • Acura Active Damper System and engine stop/start come to all trims this year

So what’s the “upcoming” part? That would be the 2019 Acura MDX Hybrid. It’s already arriving at some Acura showrooms alongside the gas-powered model, and should be at your Newport News Acura dealership before too long. It gets the same upgrades and updates as its sibling, but it’s also worth mention because its hybrid technology is directly derived from the Acura NSX supercar. That said, it’s also in a more family-friendly (and much more affordable) package. It’s also worth a mention because unlike most of its competitors, you won’t pay a hefty premium for hybrid drive; as Acura notes in a press release, there’s only a $1,500 price differential between the gas and hybrid-drive models.

New Acura SUVs have always represented a unique blend of luxury and sensibility. That’s not the only reason to love them. The other reason — and it’s a big one, in this case — is that these SUVs keep getting better year after year. To test drive the new 2019 Acura MDX, visit Hall Acura Newport News at 12501 Jefferson Ave., today.
