2019 Acura MDX: Not All-New, But Very New

The 2019 Acura MDX sports more changes than you’d expect from a luxury SUV that’s only two years from its last major redesign. We’re impressed by how much better it gets from year to year, and judging by customers’ reactions at Hall Acura Newport News, so are many of you.

There’s a lot that carries over from last year, but even the things that superficially remain the same often have subtle changes. There are still three rows of seating for seven passengers, for example, but the second-row seating is slightly reconfigured for better third-row access. The powertrain — a choice of V6 engines, plus two electric motors in the Acura MDX Hybrid — seems the same until you realize the nine-speed automatic transmission has been tweaked for better performance.

In other cases, we’re seeing features available where they weren’t before. That’s true of the Active Damper System and engine stop/start features, which used to be optional on some trims but are now standard on all models. And of course, there are features we haven’t seen before, like package-specific interior updates (for the Advance package) the new 2019 Acura MDX A-Spec trim, and optional active shocks.

Of course, there are many other legacy features on offer. These include the standard AcuraWatch safety suite, a robust roster of trim levels and option packages, and an infotainment system that puts your favorite app ecosystem at your fingertips. To get the most out of your new Acura SUV, we suggest speaking to your Acura dealer; we’ll help you choose the right configuration, and make sure you know how to get the most out of what you’ve chosen.

All that’s left is to visit 12501 Jefferson Ave., and your Acura dealership near Norfolk VA. Hall Acura Newport News looks forward to seeing you as much as you’re looking forward to the new Acura MDX!
